Pregnancy

Congratulations!
We believe the birth of your child is a moment to treasure every step of the way. The journey to motherhood is exciting, scary, and at times stressful due to the many changes your body makes as it prepares the growth of your baby inside you. Your prenatal care is very important to us, and the health and well being of you and your child are our top priority. We want you to receive the best quality and most compassionate care in Greensboro. At Femina Women’s Center we are honored that you chose us during the most joyous time of your life.

What To Expect
The biggest issue you should face, especially in your first trimester, is tiredness! This is normal and expected, so sleep eight hours a night and nap when you can. After all your body is working very hard to develop a new life!

Do your best to start sleeping on your left side. The reason this will benefit you and your baby is it will relieve pressure on major blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the fetus. If you have high blood pressure during pregnancy, it is even more important to be on your left side when you are lying down. If you are feeling stressed, try to breathe deeply and find a way to relax. Let your significant other pamper you. You might as well take advantage of it….you only have nine months!

Trimesters
The nine months of pregnancy are divided into three phases of three months each. These three phases are called trimesters. The first trimester covers week one to the end of week 12, the second trimester covers week 13 to the end of week 26, and the third trimester covers week 27 to the end of the pregnancy. Find out what's happening with you and your baby in each of these three phases of
pregnancy
